At WAWH, screenings are performed by trained medical professionals who ensure your privacy, confidentiality and comfort is maintained.

Colposcopy

A colposcopy is a simple procedure conducted using a special microscope - a colposcope, to very closely assess the cervix for any abnormalities. A colposcope has a pair of binoculars attached to a stand, with a bright light, which the medical professional uses to examine the cervix. You are usually referred to having a colposcopy after an abnormal pap smear test result.
